I grew up as an insightful child amidst a huge joint family of farmers with my nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters in Budhana, a small town of Muzzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. During my growing years, back in 1970s, there was no television. The only source of entertainment used to be the village carnivals and folk performances. I remember as a child, I was so deeply enchanted with the sheer energies of those performers that I always wanted to be like one of them. All the while my graduation in science from Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar, I wanted to do something else, I wanted to explore myself. I joined The National School of Drama (NSD). After my Graduation, I headed towards the aim in my life; I had come to Mumbai (then BOMBAY) and experienced the longest and toughest struggle of my Life. My aim was only to try and find myself through the characters, through the films and through the theatres, I have been part of.
